
Dr. Emaduddin Siddiqi
BRIEF INTRO
Graduated from Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi completed residency training in Pediatric did FCPS, MCPS, and DCH. Join ED of Aga Khan Hospital in 2005, with >20 years of PEM experience, and currently working as Associate Professor.
During this tenure, I lead the section of PEM, and completed PEM (Clinical) Fellowship (FDA from AKU) training from Sickkids (2011-12) Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto Canada, rejoin AKU as 1st and pioneer PEM-trained physician in Pakistan. In 2014, submitted the PEM fellow program at PGME and got it approved as the first fellow inducted in 2018.
Teaching junior faculty, residents, interns, students, nursing, and others is integral to my academic activity. As supervisor of CPSP, have >15 residents under my supervision during their residency training and research activity, 05 have completed their exit exam in emergency medicine. Am 1st supervisor and examiner of EM for CPSP, office bearer (Focal Person) at the College of Physicians and Surgeons for EM.
As Simulation Course Director of EM, develop multiple programs in collaboration with other AKU departments and, conducted multiple clinical, academic, and teaching modules for local, national, and international students other than the Clinical Simulation Advance courses at CIME. Am also certified for PALS, ACLS (Instructor), NRP, ATLS, ALSO, APLS, APTLS, ESS-EMCH, etc.
I am keenly interested in research as reflected in my CV, with around 70 published papers and a few more publishing phases, including a book, 02 book chapters, Co-PI of 1st ever double-blinded RCT internationally funded study, and reviewer of many peer-review journals.
A Handbook Book on PEM is my ongoing task, another very important aspect of my futuristic vision is to strive for PEM across the country either with PEM fellowship Program or short courses/simulation courses, etc. in collaboration with other working groups. I have written a few papers focusing on PEM-related scope and opportunities along with dedicated sessions and talks in different forums in front of stakeholders.
My objective is to progress the state-of-the-art PEM driven by evidence-based practice and guide stakeholders in re-shaping their policy toward developing PEM-friendly Hospitals, along with this willing to earn and share the experience that I have attained, hence applying for the suitable position in the middle east or elsewhere.
I believe that I can contribute to developing and strengthening PEM anywhere.
